Using a Thermal Printer for UPS Shipping

You can use several makes and models of thermal printers to conveniently print shipping labels on your own time.

Compatible Thermal Printer Models

Ups.com (including CampusShip) is compatible with most thermal label printers that will print 4" x 6" labels. Standard desktop laser and inkjet printers are also supported.

Worldship is compatible with most thermal label printers that will print 4" x 6" and 4" x 8" labels, as well as standard desktop laser and inkjet printers. Follow the documentation that comes with the printer to install the correct driver and for setup instructions.

Setting Up Your Thermal Printer

Before setting up your thermal printer, make sure your printer is supported for UPS shipping in the compatible printers list above.

For Chrome, Safari, Edge and other supported browsers:

  • Install the UPS thermal printer driver from the list of drivers below or from the manufacturer's website.
  • Install the UPS Thermal Printing App.
  • Install your thermal printer.
  • When printing a label, select your printer and ensure pop-ups are not blocked.

Note: To run the UPS Thermal Printer App, you'll need to have a current version of Java. You can check your version at https://www.java.com.
